Web assistant for application used as Business service in Fiori Launchpad

Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible for an application that is used as Business service application (a.k.a via reuse service) to have configured Contextual help.

We are developing application in Cloud Foundry and it is a classical Business service application. It means that we are not providing Fiori launchpad site for our application and we do maintain FLP configuration, but our application can be embedded and used from any other Fiori launchpad site via our reuse service.

My questions is can we as such type of application still use Web assistant to display our contextual help?

I read the integration with FLP and Cloud Foundry in the integration guide

https://help.sap.com/doc/74bfd245cde048458458f6df5d5cb567/1905/en-US/Web_Assistant_Integration_Guide...

but there in configuration you need to provide for a catalog as parameters which product ID and version is used to provide content for Web assistant:

product <product ID of your application>

version < version number of your application>.

As we are not configuring any catalogs, but we are just added as part of already existing catalogs is it still possible for our application to provide Product ID and version parameters and if Web Assistant plugin is enabled in Fiori Launchpad our application can show it's own contextual help?

May be it is important to mention that we need only read only variant of contextual help. No editing or content creation mode form Web Assistant.

Thanks and best regards, Vesela

Hi Vesela,

I think the Integration Guide is not helpful for you as the configuration listet there is for the NEO environment.

Did you have seen the page in the internal Info-Center?:

https://enable-now.sap.com/ic/wa/int/~tag/published/index.html?show=group!GR_CF44F241F6233280#group!...

I think there is a helpful Wiki Page linked with additional information for Foundry and also the option to write comments or questions. I think the people there can help you better 🙂

I hope this answer was helpful, if so, please accept it.

Michael,

Your answer intrigues me for possibilities as an SAP customer, looking to our future.

But I'm seeing the "internal" and I'm blocked off that site.

Curious to see what others post, to this, what other possibilities exist.

Thanks,

Wallace

Hi Wallace,

this inquiry was unfortunately an internal one, and we have also an internal Info-Center for f.e. our Content Developers which want to embed content into their SAP Applications - the results you will see in future is that more and more SAP Solutions will have the Web Assistant in place. But yes that is the reason why you can't access the link 🙂
