VRP-13043 - Custom MDF Fields Import for Employee History

Hi Team,

The VRP-13043 is a release item of 2H 2023 and it says as below

We now support pulling data from fields of one custom MDF object during the Import Employee History from Employee Central process for Variable Pay templates.

Is that mean, SF now supports custom object mapping in the background element other than regular objects like Job / Personal/ Employment etc.? 

Can we get more details on this?

You don't need to tie the MDF to EmpDetails. You can integrate standalone MDF object (only 1) with varpayemphist as long as it has externalCode=User and it is effective dated.

Yes it works just the same as it does to retrieve information from CompInfo and JobInfo but now from MDF.

One quick clarification: Do we need to have this MDF object tagged to Employment? Or can we have independent MDF object and use it is in Varible Pay History Background element?

Please clarify.
