Vignette service crashes (ProPak v4.4x)

Greetings! ProPak v4.4x has been  installed on 3 servers (Web/App, Search, and Oracle DB) for about 5 months successfully in production; however, last weekend the servers were bounced for maintenance...and now the Vignette service will not remain started. When we attempt to start the service, it starts but immediately crashes. As a result, the ProPak website will not generate.

- We have attempted bouncing the services (Ancile uPerform Monitoring, Vignette, Common Apache) with no luck.

- We have attempted bouncing the servers with no luck.

- We have verified the Vignette service is set to Automatic, and there are no dependencies.

- Server Maintenance Admins confirmed no changes were made to the servers during maintenance, and that they were only bounced.

Any thoughts? Prod has been down for a few days now...

Thanks!

Hi,

What does the latest CollabConsole.log say ? (located in folder structure like this  D:\uPerform\Vignette\Collaboration\log).   (and also other latest modified log files in that folder) ?

few important to things to note as part of maintenance (was OS updated ? DB ? jvm or .net libraries ?)

Did security related changes happened ? (like user password, authorizations for admin user etc, user locked).

Another way to debug this issue is that did you try to launch CollabService.exe via the command console ? Like calling D:\uPerform\Vignette\Collaboration\bin\CollabService.exe on Dos command prompt ?

As you might know, You can create oss ticket (if it's still not resolved)

Regards

Satish
