Variable Pay-Custom Basis Calculation and Role Change Adjustment

Hello experts.

Our client requested the creation of a plan without targets, where the basis will be calculated using a custom calculation. They asked us to investigate whether it would be possible to adjust the Target Bonus percentage in some way, applying a proportional adjustment in cases where an employee changes role during the year.

For example, if an employee moves from job code X to job code Y after six months, and we kept the %Target Bonus from the effective date on 31/12/yyyy, the percentage would end up being lower. Ηow historical records from Job Info fields can be included in a custom calculation and influence the final result.

Does anyone have something to suggest or any advice?

Thank you in advance!

Hi @Olskar

Unfortunately you won't be able to do that in standard. But if you customize everything with ALCF fields, then you probably can.

That's the reality of Variable pay: there are very few things it cannot do.... if you customize. And customizing everything takes a LOT of time.

Best,

Xavier

@xavierlegarrecThank you very much for clarifying this! I’m already aware of the customization options with ALCF fields and understand that full customization can be time-consuming. But I am not sure if it is possible to add non numeric field in the custom basis formula like job code or band. And the historic records of them to be inserted needs a lot of effort to find a way to come from Employee Central.

@Olskar That's what I mean by customizing... you need to also customize the calculation of earnings through calculated ALCF fields. And as a consequence in every section (busgoal, indgoal, ...) and end up with a 100% customize varpay template. At this time it is not possible to add non-numeric fields in custom basis formula but as per roadmap presented at SuccessConnect the Product team is planning on allowing if-then conditions in custom bass formula for one of the next releases -no guarantee it will be delivered however, it's still in the works.
