Users Cannot See Their Own Contingent Worker Profile in SAP SuccessFactors People Profile

Hi everyone,

I’m encountering an issue in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central where employees cannot see their own Contingent Worker (CW) profile in the People Profile, regardless of their permission roles.

Scenario:
As an administrator, I can see another employee’s both profiles (if they have both a contingent worker and a regular employee profile).
However, no employee (myself included), regardless of their permission roles, can see their own contingent worker profile in People Profile.

What I Have Checked:

• Employee On Self Permission Role: My first suspicion was that this issue is related to Employee On Self permissions, so I checked Manage Permission Roles for the relevant role. However, I couldn't find any apparent permissions that would allow an employee to view their own CW profile.
• Role-Based Permissions (RBP): Even users with full access (including admins) cannot see their own CW profile, so maybe it really is not just an RBP issue.
• Target Population: Permissions are properly set, and the issue persists across all users.
• Employee Profile Configuration: No apparent restrictions that would prevent users from viewing their own CW profile.
• Employment Type Transition: This happens even if the CW profile still exists separately after conversion to a regular employee.

Questions:

• Is this a known limitation in Employee Central where users cannot see their own CW profile?
  Are there any workarounds or configuration settings that allow employees to access their own CW profile?
• Has anyone faced a similar issue, and how was it resolved?

Would appreciate any insights or best practices!

Okay, thanks for further clarification. I understand it's not two parallel employments. but still the user has two profiles (one is for CW, one is for regular employee). For user with two profiles, whey they're checking their own profile, they cannot switch the employment via the radio button (that in your screenshot).Instead, they should use the Employment Switcher, namely the button above the people profile header. Please refer to KBA 2535809 - User is unable to toggle between their various concurrent employments as there is no radio...

Could you please proxy as the user and check if they can see the Employment Switcher button?

I’ve noticed that the Employment Switcher button is missing for all employees, not just for self-view.

Based on the SAP documentation, I’ve already enabled the following settings and permissions:

Manage Employee Central Settings:

• Concurrent Employment Management
• Global Assignment Management

Role-Based Permissions (RBP):

• User Permissions - General User Permission - Company Info Access and User Search permission for the specified target population
• Administrator Permissions - Manage Hires - Include Inactive Employees in the search permission
• Field-level permission: User Permissions - Employee Central Effective Dated Entities - Job Information - Job Title
• Field-level permission: User Permissions - Employee Central Effective Dated Entities - Job Information - Location

Still, Employment Switcher does not appear. Anything else to try comes to mind?

Thank you for feedback. That's weird. The button should be appearing. Then it's better to create a ticket for this issue.

Hi, do you mean user cannot switch to their other employment? Could you please check as per the attached screenshot if they can access the other profile via the Employment Switcher?

Hi,

No, this is not about parallel employments. I am referring to contingent workers who were later hired as regular employees. In Employee Profile or People Profile, within the header (banner), you should be able to switch between the two profiles (contingent worker and regular employee).

However, the issue is that employees cannot see their own contingent worker profile, even though administrators can see both profiles for other employees.
