Hi All,

We are going for upgrade of Support product pak from 4.1 to 5.1. in windows / oracle. Current version is 4.1 windows 2003 server / oracle.

As per 4.1 we have  Search , application and database server.  In 5.1 do we have any other component / technical architecture change  from 4.1.

Author/Administrator Workstation is an additional compoent in 5.1 , which seems not there in 4.1

As in the document it shows like we need to install ,"If you have a version older than 5.x installed, you must first install 5.0x and

then proceed to install 5.4."

could someone share the experience on this.

Thnaks

matt

Hi Shu Liu,

Thanks for your reply. Would like to know whethere we need to upgrade oracle 10g to 11 during the upgrade from 4.1 to 5.1. I mean is it mandatory to do the oracle upgrade as part of the uperform upgrade or can stay with 10g itself with uPerfom 5.1

thanks

Hi Matt,

Looking at the technical specifications for 5.1 I see 10.2.0.2 or later patch sets.

Matthew

Hi Mathew,

Thanks for the reply. its seems oracle can be 10 g or 11 So as part of the upgrade to  5.1 ist it not mandatory to upgrade the oracle database to 11g

thanks

Hi Matt,

I don't have enough information to confirm or deny. The tech specs are usually fairly solid.

Maybe create a message in xx-part-anc and Support will have an answer.

Regards,

Matthew

5.1 is the same with 5.0 . expect for Arabic language.

If there is no special need for Arabic language, ancile recommends to use 5.0

still the same scenario. for search, collab, db server.

author work station should be the frontend ( uPerform client ) ?

upgrade to 5.0 is enough.
