Update EC data after onboarding but before start date

Update EC data after onboarding but before start date - We have recently rolled out RCM & ONB2.0. However once an employee has gone through the Onboarding process and then through Manage Pending Hires, it is not possible for our HR Admin team to edit/change/correct most of the data portlets on the employee record.  They can make the changes AFTER the start date has passed but not before.  This seems like a huge oversight or perhaps something we are not informed about. We want to change data on new future hires as and when needed (like ONB1.0 and EC allowed us to).  I came across this KBA (https://me.sap.com/notes/2654997/E) however switching on these permissions allows limited visibility but no edit functionality to key data that integrates to other systems which our business processes rely on

Update: We have had to switch on the edit functionality (following the KBA above) to allow Super Admins to edit the employee data before start date however this is a temporary workaround. Switching it on for Employee Services, means switchng it on for ONB admins too which we dont want to do as they are roles carried out by different team members. If anyone has any info on how they manage this better please assist! Thankyou
