Unable to book holiday with 28 Available Days Before certain date

Hi,

Having an issue with booking annual leave for a single user:

Setup:

  • Annual Leave is based on yearly accrual (from 1st Jan to 31st Dec).
  • All users are given 28 days holiday at the start of the year (1st Jan) to use as they see fit for the year.
  • 9 Public holidays are included in the year and are pre booked off for all users at the start of the year via bulk import.
  • Public holidays are classed a 'None' as a 'Holiday Class' in the 'Holiday Calender'.

Scenario:

  • Only one user is affected.
  • They have 28 days annual leave available to use (public holidays have not been pre booked for them)
  • The available balance shows 28 days when booking annual leave, this is mirrored in the users 'Time Account'
  • When crating an absence, the Available Balance shows 28 days
  • When attempting to book any absence on or before 4th March then Available Balance goes down to 0 and a message is received saying ' No leave balance left'.
  • When you attempt to book a date after 4th March then the Balance is corrected and bookable.

Troubleshooting:

  • Recalculated the user's accrual via Time Managment Recalculation.
  • Checked Time Account for the user is from 1st Jan to 31st Dec
  • Deleted absence entries in Time Account and cancelled absence in Time account.

Any advice on how to resolve this issue and allow the user to book annual leave for the entirety of the holiday year.

Thanks

Tom

I have got to the bottom of the issue.

Sharing the solution of other users

  • The issue is caused here as the accrual is posted as of 7th March 2022 in the time account

The Fix

  • To recalculate the posting date, the field 'Accrual Recalculation Posting Method' in the time account type has to be set to 'No Recalculation Postings
  • After this, manual recalculation can be triggered for this employee to correct the posting date.

Here are the KBA's to reference:
