How to create an email alert in employee central to employee after they insert a new dependent/family member?

Hi Kumar, please go to the business rules configuration and look under Employee Central Core to see which scenarios are supported. If you select Generate Alerts you will see there is no option in base object to create an alert for Dependent data. However, if you look under Trigger Workflows you will see Dependents in the base object drop down.

Hi Tanya,

Many thanks for your reply. But I'm unable to find a field in the dependents model that I can use to ascertain a 'Newly Created Dependent'. Which field should I use? Please help.

Hi Kumar, can you try this in the if statement, the workflow should trigger if the record is new, ie person ID of the dependent is null.
