I encounter some questions and problems when I build some dummy data in quality environment, and this is the first time I try to build the dummy data in the system.

Could anyone help or enlighten me, please?

1.There are two checkbox of Automatically Generate Calendar in Event Calendar (happens in English page but not in other languages)

2. Can't I upload the compensation elements and rules? Or, if yes, how should I upload them?

3. Where can I find the plan data template?

4. After I created an plan (which start date is 1/1/2015), I couldn't assign it to the title, not even position.

Your answers and helps are much appreciate! Thank you.

Hello, Cynthia,

You have lots of good questions here. Let me address each one individually.

1.There are two checkbox of Automatically Generate Calendar in Event Calendar (happens in English page but not in other languages)

A: I think this is not intentional. When you check one box, the other checks as well. Perhaps someone can bring this to the intention of the product team.

2. Can't I upload the compensation elements and rules? Or, if yes, how should I upload them?

3. Where can I find the plan data template?

A: Questions 2 and 3 are related. To upload plans, rules and compensation elements, you download the objects to an XML file in the workspace for each type of object. You can then use the Pipeline (as you show in question 3) to upload the XML file. This blog post has the full instructions.

4. After I created an plan (which start date is 1/1/2015), I couldn't assign it to the title, not even position.

A: Most likely, it's because of the alignment of the Effective Start Dates. It looks like the Title has a start date of 1/1/2006 and the plan has a start date of 1/1/1900. Try creating a new version of both the Title and the Plan, both starting the same date.

I hope these answers are helpful!

Regards,

Lara

Hi Cynthia,

You are definitely doing it right. If you get to the last step and don't see the Rate Table Variable (or any other variables), here are the things to check:

1. Make sure the effective dates line up. I see that the effective date for the rule is 1/1/2015 but don't see the one for the rate tables and fixed values.

2. Make sure the business units match as well.

3. Make sure the unit types match. The rate table has an output of percent, so the variable should as well. For fixed values, both the unit types and period types should match the ones in the variables.

Let me know how this turns out.

Hi Lara,

I have adjust the formulas accordingly, even though the number is incorrect, but I can get the pipeline run without errors now (hooray!)

(current setting as below, the variable in the formulas of the rate table have been change into fixed value)

However.......

I got another question here....(oh my!)

I could not get any incentive greater than 2 dollar (really sad.......;(

There must be a error in my incentive rule.

Could you please help me out? Please~~and Thank you~~~~~~~!!

Dear Lara,

Thank you so much for your answers, they help a lot!

Could I ask a few more? Please?

Like, when I try to build a plan with rules which combined many variables, I can not assign most of the variables when I assign the plan to a title, but only one exception, which is a Rate Table Variable that I reference directly in the incentive rule.

Does that means that I can only build rule with rule and plan but not in compensation elements?

Please see the example below:

1. I create a bunch of variables...(of course corresponding fixed value elements)

2. Then, I used them in a formula...

3. Of which I used in a rate table, and, yes, of course, I created a variable for this rate table (I don't know why, but somehow, I love to create variables)

4. Then, I refer the rate table variable in the incentive rule, (un)fortunately we could not create a variable for rules, otherwise, I might create one, too. 😉

5. Here is the result, sorry for long post, I couldn't assign other variables, but only rate table.

Sorry for the mistake, correct the question below:

Does that means that I can only "use variable" with rule and plan but not in compensation elements?
