Time off Story report data access for manager - Target group is not respected

Hello People analytics & Time off Experts,

I seek your inputs in addressing a challenge I am facing currently with a Time off story report which is being shared with managers.

Manager is able to view absence data for all employees across organization however his manager role has target group limited to direct subordinate only. Ideally, he/she should only see absence data of his own subordinates.

Has any faced this challenge where RBP (specifically target group) is not respected in Story reports.

Kindly share your experience and suggestion.

Thanks

Shipra P

Hello

if you are starting your data source with table such as Employee time object, If the object is not secured based on the target population , the user running the reports will be able to see all the data if has access to view the object.

Please see 2594455 - Report built on Absence Request (Time Off) does not respect Role Based Permission (RBP) - ...

To resolve this, either make sure the object is secured with target criteria or start your report with table such as Job information which are restricted by RBP target criteria for users

Hi Shipra,

For Admins, you just have to duplicate the report of managers and select "All Data" in the scope filtering.

Please let me know in case of any queries.

Pavan

Hi Shipra,
I'm having the same problem, expecting an especific group, to who I shared a story Report, could see their respective target population data. But in the opposite, they see the whole the data obtained in the query.
Even, I tried to get the data of employee time through the Job Information joining tables. But is the same behavior.

I didn't find any information about the RBP how to work with schemas in Story Reports.
This didn't work with Employee Time Object : https://me.sap.com/notes/3475150/E
I hope find a solution soon.

Best Regards

HI Shipra,

You could check if the Scope filtering is set in the query designer.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Avinash

Hello Avinash, Thank you so much for your response. I just want to know if scope filter in dataset will also limit the data view at story report admin user.? I believe it does.. So in this case, we may need to create a copy of report and then add scope filter for Manager specifically.

Kindly suggest.
