The same functional and matrix manager responsibilities/permissions on the Performance review form?

Hello All,
 
We are trying to find out if any companies split responsibilities/permissions equally between functional and matrix manager for each stage of the performance review form?

Hi,

We have Direct Managers and Matrix Managers contributing to the performance forms.

Since there are many ways they split their responsibilities, we have made is very simple !

Both have almost the same rights:

  • both can create/comment/rate objectives
  • both can contribute do the Career discussion (it's a section)
  • only the direct manager can date competencies (because it is a drop down rating), but both can comment to the section
  • both can send for sign-off.

This seems to work well for us, and when people ask how they manage do split the tasks, I say that they managed to define this for the employee's tasks and supervision, so they should be able to align on the performance form.
