Job Profile, Job Role, Job Code, Job Classification and Job Family aren't unknown keywords or a unfamiliar environment for you? Then you are absolutely right here, because your opinion and experience is essential at this point!

Since 2021, we are no longer working only with our on-premise SAP system, but also with SAP SuccessFactors. Since the implementation of SAP SuccessFactors, we therefore also make use of the possibility to create, store and manage job profiles in SAP SuccessFactors. This means that we maintain the job descriptions of our whole Geberit Group employees in accordance with the SAP Standard in SuccessFactors - well, more or less ...

We link our positions to different job codes and these job codes are linked to different job families. So every position is linked to a job profile. However, a job profile cannot only be role-based, as recommended in the SAP standard - we also maintain position-based job profiles, because we have customized the whole thing to our business needs.

But did we do this for real and is this the right way to handle this?

There are always many ways to move from A to B in all areas of our lifes and also in our daily business. Sometimes we ask ourselves which way will be the right one to achieve the desired goal in the best possible way. In addition, there exists the well-known question in IT whether the SAP standard is needed, whether it is better to go back to the SAP standard or not. It's a well-known fact that a deviation from the standard always becomes a problem when it has been overdone.

But how do you know you've overdone something?

With the current rollout of the SAP Recruiting Module, we´re facing some big challenges with our actually Job Profile configuration in SAP SuccessFactors.

That's why we'd like to discuss with you the topic of Job Profiles in the SAP SuccessFactors environment.

  • How do you manage your job profiles in SAP SuccessFactors?
  • Which categories do you use in your job profiles?
  • What are your actual benefits with using Job Profiles?
  • Which job codes do you use for the positions and when?
  • What is your BEST PRACTISE in general?
  • What good and bad experiences have you had so far?

Now, we would be happy if you also deal with the topic of job profiles or if you are familiar with it. In this case we could discuss the above and perhaps other questions together and basically exchange ideas on the topic of job profiles. This way, we could learn from each other for sure and maybe we´re able to push each other forward!

Interested? Please feel free to contact us via Mail (hcm.applications@geberit.com) - we are looking forward to talking to you!

Best regards,

Lia Cordaro and the SAP HCM IT Team of the Geberit Group
