Terminate manager with future date

Hello,

if a manager is terminated with future dated termination date all subordinates will get an additional record in Job Information at once and will be moved to the one over manager with the future dated effective date.

If one or all subordinates are moved to another manager after this termination was done and before the effective date is over this additional record isn’t removed automatically and the affected subordinate will be moved to the one over manager even this employee is already reporting to someone else.

Example:

  1. Manager 1 is terminated as of 31.12.2023
  2. Subordinate A will get an additional record in Job Info with effective date 1.1.2024 and will report to oo-manager 2 as of 1.1.2024
  3. As of 1. October 2023 subordinate A is moved to Manager 3.
  4. Since the record as of 1.1.2024 still exists this employee A will report to oo-manager 2 after 1.1.2024 even he/she was already moved under another manager – what is not correct anymore.

Can you share your best practise/experience how you handle this.

Thanks Nina
