Talent Modules Implementation withouth EC

Hi Everyone,

I have a new client who is considering moving from their legacy HRIS System to Successfactors and they wouldl like to consider the below two escenarios:

1. Implementing talent modules with EC (I don't think it maybe any issue)

2. Implementing talent moduls without EC

But for this esceario I have been looking there are some challengues as some functionalities are not going to be available even if the client implement the EC mini master.

according to the kba 3340964 - Onboarding and EC Mini Limitations (sap.com)

  • EC should not be used for core HR, like hire transfer promotions etc.. For all these events the data comes from the customers core HR systems. My understand is we can not use ONB 2.0 to transfer the information to Employee profile directly, is that understanding correct?
  • Crossboarding and Offboarding are not supported with mini EC.
  • No Manager or Employee Self Service. Neither for functionalities that only applies for employee profile?
  • Position Management should NOT be used in EC.  
  • My question is Succession Management we can nominated people through MDF Position nomination method without EC, so those it mean I cannot use the integration with RCM because recruitment will not have access to this position object.
  • Can we have something similar in RCM to manage the position hierarchy?
  • Comp. calculations should also not be used. My question is what does it mean calculations shoudl also not be used, what calculations? calculations that involves EC fields for  compensation plan?
  • The EC functions are read only from the UI.

Any other considerations?
