Hi,
We recently launched our SFs LMS at Softchoice L&D.
My question is around reaching a decision on implementing our Leadership Development Curriculum as a Program or a Curricula on the new LMS.
Can you please advise what other companies have done in the past for launching a multiyear, blended learning program with multiple forms of delivery (mix of e-Learning, virtual classes, videos etc.) on SFs LMS?
Any best practices, white paper, case studies, KBAs would be really helpful.
Thanks,
Sunanda

Hi Gerado,
Thanks for the detailed informative article. It helps a lot. And just one quick clarification i.e.
You mentioned "Curricula is very good cycled online courses, but as easy for instructor-led and blended cases."
Did you mean but "Programs" as easy for instructor-led and blended cases?
Did you missed the word "Programs". Please check.
Thanks
Sud

Hello Sunanda,
This is a very common decision for Learning Managers.
I can say main difference is in expected use.
When you want to have precise learning cycles for government training or private training, you can use curricula to automatize assignments.
But if you require a modern tool that allows record learning history for a group of items, watch advance percentage, show a modern view that can be tracked on mobile devices, add embedded video, HTML code for learning activities that don't require items, then I think program is much better.
Consider also, that although Curricula can have instructor led or blended items, it is not able to keep offers inside of itself. Program can do that, which helps user to see all required courses and tasks in the same place.
So for multiyear blended course you can use curricula to automatize yearly cycles, but it is not as easy as in programs to identify that in order to approve an item you need to finish the offer.
Curricula is very good cycled online courses, but as easy for instructor-led and blended cases.
I am leaving here a link with main differences that are between two objects.
