Dear Community,
We have the following bug in our system:
1. Employee is hired in EC with e.g. 2 First names and 2 Last names. The 2 first names are written in the same field (First name) and the 2 last names are saved in the "Last name" field.
2. HR deletes later 1 first name or 1 last name out of the two and saves the record.
3. The name is updated on the Employee Profile but the "Formal Name" field shows the old values and is not updated/synched automatically.
Workaround: Deleting the "Formal Name" field when changing the name. In this case the field will be updated automatically after saving.
If an employee has 1 first and 1 last name only, the "Formal Name" is updated automatically after saving the record.
Do you have an idea how we can make this work for employees with more than 1 first and last name as we want to avoid/reduce manual work in the system (so that the "Formal Name" field needs to be deleted before the record gets updated and saved.
Request clarification before answering.
Hi jasper.de.groot ,
Thanks for taking the time to answer. It is about the Formal name field in the personal information.
The autopopulation of the Formal name field usually works as expected for employees with single first- and last names. The issue occurs when somebody has more than 1 first or last names

Are we talking Formal name in personal info or the user data file? If its the field in personal info it just sounds like a rule is blocking your update or logic is not working as intended (which may be worth a rule trace).
If it's the field in the user data file that's a different story as you could run the Refresh General Display name (in company and logo settings) or could choose to create a job via integration center to perform the check and do an update (technically you could also create an integration center job in integration center too to do a check for perpersonal to update the field.
