Job Description Enhancement is one of our powerful AI function for SuccessFactors Recruiting Management.
It helps a recruiter or hiring manager to enhance a generic job description using generative AI to better reflect their specific hiring needs.
Setting up this function is very simple. As soon as your company has licensed some AI Units the option to activate the function is available in your SuccessFactors System.
HINT: Before you start the activation, please check what license type you have. If you have the newest AI License Model (where you pay per user and month), please follow the next steps ONLY if you have activated the Joule Premium AI Package for HCM in SAP4ME and after the assignment of users in the relevant IAS Group) - SAP Video - Activating and Assigning SAP Business AI Feature Packages.
It's more or less a 3 step approach (guide)
1. Activate the function via "AI Administration" Page
2. define fields that should be used for the enhancement (e.g. department name, company name,e tc.) via MDF Object Recruiting AI Enhanced Job Description [if you can't find this object make sure you have Permissions to this object: RBP -> Manage Permission Roles -> Manage MDF Recruiting Objects]
I would recommend to check the object against your configuration and add missing fields to improve your final result.
e.g. if the Job Description Enhancement functions knows what the professional level should be or for what department the job is foreseen it will make the final result better.
3. User permission (RBP) - make the function available to your recruiters
After finishing the steps your recruiters (or who ever has permissions) are able to use the AI tool für Job Description Generation.
Some key learnings:
1. Language
Job Description Enhancement (Gen AI) is available in different languages. Your POSTING LANGUAGE defined the AI language.
Define the posting languages on your job description. Depending on the selected language for the posting the AI tool will give your the result in the selected language.

2. Job Profiles and Job Profile Builder
Using Job Profiles and a strong maintained JPB is NOT necessary (also TIH is not needed).
JPB would help you in getting good results and would help your recruiting team with predefined posting texts, skills, competencies etc. but you can use the AI functionality without it.
3. Result
The result of the Job Description Enhancement depends on your input and the quality of your input.
Let us assume you run the AI Enhancer WITHOUT any information on the job description / summary fields. In this case the result would not be very sufficient - hope this is clear. The tool will use the information from the job description (based on the MDF) and tries to create a description.

Now give a little bit more instruction to the description and see the AI magic:
And what happens if the recruiter creates a nearly perfect description from the beginning? In this case the AI can not be so much better. The result would be nearly the same. Perhaps some small adjustments in texts/wordings are done but no bigger changes in the overall context.
In such cases - congrats to the recruiters because they have done a very well job 😉
