Hi Experts,

We have created a URL type APP for Success Factors application (Learning) in Cloud portal.

When we click on Learning tile in portal, it will open Success Factors in next tab and open course videos.

when we click on close button for video, only video should be closed.

But after success factors upgrade 2H/2021, when we click on close button for video, entire browser tab is closing.

We are facing this issue in only Chrome and Edge browsers. It is working fine in Mozilla Firefox browser.

We have SAP UI5 1.84 (Long-term maintenance) version for cloud portal.

when we click on close button for video, will get like

Pop up error Message: A request to record your progress in the Learning application has failed. Please check your internet connection. If the issue persists, reach out to your internal support organization for further assistance.

Kindly find the Screen snaps for further,

We have planned go-live in next week.

Hi everyone,

Apologies for the late response.

Thank you soo much to every one who is shared your thoughts and solutions to this.

John Williams and Ashleigh Arrowsmith, Thanks for your solutions for this issue.

The Solution is given which is mentioned you for content generated through Storyline and Lectora .

But, actually, We have created content through captivate and Camtasia .

If possible, Can you provide the solution to the content which is from captivate and Camtasia .
Thank you...

Hi everyone

We've managed to make this error message disappear. All I did was delete the exit button (and therefore exit trigger) from the Storyline file. This forces people to use the exit button in the in-built SF player. This has solved the problem. 🙂

We are facing this issue as well. We create content using Storyline 360.

It does still record completion - but the user wouldn't know that. The below happens:

1. Person gets to last slide of course

2. Person clicks on the 'exit' button

3. Error message pops up

4. Hit OK on error message

5. Whole browser tab closes down

I'm keen to hear anyone else's suggestions :).

I ran into this exact problem:

- Courses built with Lectora that have an "Exit" button

- Course Home turned on in LMS

- Edge Browser

When use clicks "Exit" the browser displays the error message you mention and then the whole browser tab closes. (Oddly, this issue does not occur in Chrome)

Our Solution:

1) In Lectora, create a box that displays a message to the user that they have left the course. When the Exit button is clicked, display this message (along with perform the exit command from Lectora). We made this box the size of the course content so the user thinks the course closed.

2) When publishing the SCORM package, uncheck the option that says "The published course will be presented in a separate window than the LMS"

If you use other content development software, check to see if you can turn off the "Opens in a new window" setting when publishing the SCORM files.

Radhika, we have the same issue at my company. Because we are in NS2 (secure tenant), our 2H-2021 was much later than commercial tenants. So, we discovered this only recently. We have opened a ticket with SAP, but they are struggling. Did you ever find out what was causing this issue and a resolution?

Hi David, is it possible you please provide the ticket number to me? We face the same issue and if I can relate to your ticket it might speed up the solution time, furthermore, tickets get more prio if mulptiple customers have the same issue. Thanks!

Hi Oscar, I'm glad to provide the information you requested, along with an update. On 2/22 I was told that a SuccessFactors patch has been created to resolve this issue. It is part of SuccessFactors version b220h (which is the technical name for the first half of 2022 upgrade, AKA 1H-2022). We have asked, due to the nature of the issue, that SAP consider applying this particular patch earlier & get it into SuccessFactors via one of the frequent weekend patching efforts. We are still waiting on word if SAP will approve that. The SAP case that we created for this incident is CS0029635. However, I am unsure if that case number will do you any good since our company (Oak Ridge National Laboratory) does not use the standard / commercial data center. We are in the National Security Services (NS2) data center, which is "separate" from the commercial side (e.g., doesn't use SAP One Note to create incidents & most SAP commercial staff have no access to NS2 systems). Still if you give that info on your SAP incident, someone at SAP (commercial) should be able to connect with someone at SAP (NS2) so they can share details on the patch in question. I hope that helps!

I received an update saying the fix is in patch b2111p22. I believe this patch is scheduled for commercial datacenters (production) on 3/18/2022. For our datacenter (NS2), several weeks later.

Hi David, thanks a lot for your info on Feb 25. This really helps.
Apologies for the late reply! I lost track on this issue.

Good to read SAP acknowledges it as an issue and a patch is in progress. This issue does not appear in Mozilla by the way.

I have raised a SAP incident to make sure the issue is also been taken care of in our commercial environments.
