Success Factors communication direction between PI and Cloud

Hello experts,

my company wants to run a Proof of Concept on SAP Success Factors. I was told there is going to be a SAP PI system, which communicates with the SAP cloud. To set up the correct network settings, I would like to know if the communication is exclusively initiated by the PI system (PI -> cloud) or does the SAP cloud initiate communication to the PI aswell (PI <->cloud)?

Are you going to use Employee central integration or Talent Hybrid integration? in case of employee central, it will be both inbound and outbound.

in later case it would be mostly outbound with sync interface(ECC <->PI<->SF). Call will be intiated by ECC.
