Hi all,

we meet an issue at existing Story reports for few days:

We can run story report, but in each component (table) we cant´t see data but only an error

Do you know what can be a root of this issue a and how to solve it?

Thanks, Míša

Hello Míša,

Usually these types are errors related to data models / data sources connections. There might be something wrong on the connection or directly data sources.

You can ask help from your Analytics / SAP Analytics Cloud team.

Nieder us nor partner could find a solution. We increased priority of a SAP ticket and today they repaired it. Engineers mentioned, that we ordered autio refreshm what is not true, but maybe something went wrong wit IR from prod to test instance. SAP cleared some caches on backgroud and it runs now

Add: It seems, that there is some issue in Instance Refresh Tool - we refreshed PROD>DEV with OK result (no warning) (both at production version). SAP analytics investigate root of this issue as mentioned in SAP ticket. M.

Hi,

when you are unable to retrieve data from the datasource you have no authorization to the model. I recommend to check the permission settings and assign the user with a role that is granted access to the model.

Dear Gloria, I have superadmin permissions, could see all Stories correct before and no one changed it (it is visible in RPB changes), so this is probably not the case

Hi Míša. What exact admin permissions do you have? Do you have access to all fields as an admin? My suggestion is: Create a temporary role and assign to this role only your user. Assign all authorizations to the role. If you still cannot extract any data, an authorization issue can be excluded. Based on customer experience, some authorizations are sometimes missing.

Hi Míša,

Same issue occurs with our reports, suddenly no data is appearing in the EC story area.

Internal error occurred while processing.
For assistance, please contact your administrator or the SAP Product Support team, if needed.

Can you share how it was fixed on your site?

Kind regards

Hi Mirjam, I think that your issue is a little bit different - you have a different error message.

Our issue roots was in internal error of Instance Refresh Tool for refresh between instancies in the same production space (PROD > DEV) what involved hardcoded permissions for Stories. SAP ran some code to help us and prmised to analyze IRT to prevent the same behavior.

Hope it will help you or others

Míša

Hi Míša, maybe the error message is different, but we also preformed a refresh (PRD >QA). It looks like it is related, non of the story reports related to EC data are working.
