Status of Application object does not change

Hello Experts,

I have created one activity to reject candidacy (NE) and when I do so, it does not update the status of application object (ND) in HRP5132.

Here are the steps I followed:

1. Created the activity with Status Change (Acivity Category 5)

2. In node "Assignment of Activity Type to Object Types", assigned the activity to object types - NE, ND

3. In node "Assign a Status to Status-Changing Activity Types", for both object types - NE, ND, assigned the same activity with status "rejected"

I read some of the threads, which talks about some settings (event link enabling) for workflows in SWETYPV, however, am not sure what, how to do. Can some one guide?

Hi Sarvesh,

Do you use the standard workflow? You could check in SWI1 if the workflow is also started for the ND object and if yes, what condition is processed.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, we use standard workflow - WS51900010. When we are rejecting the NE object in the recruiter's portal, it triggers the WS51900010 for NE object only and not for ND (and vice versa).

This is same for both type of activities like for rejection and withfrawn (custom activities).

Please provide some guidelines to fix the issue where in after withdrawing/rejecting the candidacy (NE), it should also auto-update the ND object (and vice versa).

Silly question but is there an application object at all? Have you checked workflow log SWI1 in which condition it fails the update?

Hello Nicole,

Yes, there is an application object associated with the candidacy object.

Standard workflow "Workflow After Status Changes to E-Recruiting Objects" is active and another workflow "Workflow After Creating Activities" is inactive.

I have three different activities to change the status of NE/ND to rejected, to be hired and withdrawn.

I have performed the same activities as mentioned in my first post in the thread and creating these activities does not update the ND object accordingly. I see that for "rejection", SAP uses "Workflow After Creating Activities". How about for withdrawn and to be hired?

Hello Nicole,

We have analysed this further and I have one last concern:

Is there any standard way of handling the status changes from NE->ND for statuses like Withdrawn, Rejected and To be hired? If not, we are planning to copy the Status Change workflow (ERCStatusChg_2) and add similar task from another standard worklfow (Create Activity workflow (ERCActCrea_2) ) rejection task for status rejected. Similarly, we need to update other two statuses i.e. Withdrawn and To be hired.

Please let me know if we can accomplish this by standard.

However, we are not using the workflow WS51900011 (Create Activity workflow (ERCActCrea_2)

Hi Sarvesh,

Any reason why you don't use WS51900011? Are you using a custom/adjusted one? Because for me it doesn't make sense to include features in a workflow which already exist in another one.

Hello Nicole,

This has not been active since day one and if I look at the documentation of this workflow, it works for following:

Job Interview, Telephone Job Interview, Assessment Center, Medical Check, Agree Terms and Conditions of Employment, Offer Accepted, Rejection

And we are not using any such activities and have custom ones based on business process. However, the last one which is for rejection. We also need to update the ND object based on status changes on NE for "To be hired" and "Withdrawn" status for which I did not find any standard way of updating directly the ND object.

We have provided facility for recruiters to create activity on behlaf of candidates to withdraw their applications. So, is there any better way of handling this?

Hi Sarvesh,

If you look at the workflow and the rejection line you see how to read the applications from the candidacy and to set the status for these objects too.

We are in the process of making copy of status change workflow and enhancing with the steps/tasks to update ND object for rejection, withdrawn and to be hired status.

Hope this will solve our purpose.
