SSFF EC and Rest Service Integration from external system

Dear experts,

In our client implementation of SSFF EC we would like on employee time off and time sheet submit button to trigger a call of REST Service from an external system that includes the employee actual daily rostering in a real time synchronous service. The middleware between SSFF EC Time Off and external system will be CPI.

We would like to understand how this is feasible creating a rule in which we should set the REST service URL or through a rule using intelligent services or in another way? Do you have any similar experience on this?

What we would like is what you said in the second option that on employee time submission to call directly the SAP CPI in order to get the information from external system and based on that either to give the green light to user to submit or to get error and in this case, the vacation request for example will not submitted.

So, i have the end point of CPI, then where i need to setup in SSFF so as to trigger it on submission? through a rule? i found a relevant support linkhttps://blogs.sap.com/2016/08/25/integration-of-successfactors-intelligent-services-with-sap-cloud-identity-using-sap-hcp-ishci/ but in our case there is no business requirement to trigger automatic flow using Intelligent Services as per specific link, not sure if i miss anything. Please kindly advise., if possible.

Hello Georgia,

First place please check if any events related to time off available or not to make sure ISC can be used. If available either directly hit SAP CPI end points(SOAP endpoint) which indirectly pulling all the required data from 3rd party and then update it back to SFSF.
