Hi Community,
Is it possible to skip learning request approval process steps that do not have any approvers ? For example, we have an approval process (Manager Level 1 > Manager Level 2 > Head of Department > HRBP) which works fine for most of employees, but sometimes there can be situation when employee don’t have a Manager Level 2 or another approval role depending on the org hierarchy. In this case, the LMS will ask the employee to enter the approver for the manager level 2 step manually because the system cannot find it, what is little bit tricky moment especial for external learning request or for paid courses.

Can we skip a step of the learning request approval process if there are no approvers at that step, similar to how we can do it for the approval process used with an electronic signature?
It may also happen that Manager Level 2 and Head of Department are the same person and through the approval process(Manager Level 1 > Manager Level 2 > Head of Department > HRBP) this person will need to approve this request twice(one after another), as Manage Level 2 and then as Head of Department.

In such a situation, it would be logical that it would be enough for this person to confirm the learning request once. As far as I understand approval process can't be configured like that, right?
Thanks,
Vadims

Hi Vadims,
We have the same issue like you. Do you have the solution for this now? By the way, may I know how you define the approval role for the 3rd approval step?
Many thanks!

Hello vadims.pavlovs,
Please refer below SAP Note. There is a skip button in the approval process, might it works.

Hi neeraj.jain16,
Thanks for the KBA, but the skip button doesn't work as skipping the current approval step and moving on to the next one. It's more like postponing your decision(to approve or deny a request) when you have multiple approval requests as an approver.
