Hi, I'm a brand new system admin, looking to do an instance refresh for our SuccessFactors HCM Core Suite (BizX), from our Production Instance (source) to our Test Instance (target). I've come across a lot of great resources relating to steps on how to conduct this, thank you to many of you who have posted or commented on other questions!
I recognize each instance may vary depending on complexity, but I was trying to find more information on how long (approximately) does the Refresh take to complete? In other words, how long could we expect an outage in our Target Instance (1-3 hours, 6-12 hours, more than 24 hours, etc)?
Also, should we refrain from going into our Production Instance during this whole window? What is the impact of a regularly scheduled User Data File import during the Refresh window, or if an end user goes into Production to work on an overdue performance form (example)?
Additionally, for others who have used the self Instance Refresh tool, are there any additional helpful tips or anything useful that would be helpful to know ahead of time?
For additional information, our system does not have Employee Central, and is currently operating with about 16GB Total Usage.
Thanks!
Geena

Dear gouellette,
Is not possible to predict a time when we don't know the instance data volume. If you raise a ticket with SAP support, they will give you a refresh window based on your instance db, so this is the best way to get the average duration that you looking for.
For non heavy db, it is a quick process, some hours and you are ready to start using the target.
Thank you.
Best Regards,
Karen Perez
