SF EC - Email Information portlet query

Hi all,


Can we update an email in 'Email Information portlet' without specifying that email as primary. 

For example, consider a user by name' Rajesh Kumar' and User have only one email which is his personal email i.e.., ''. Can we update this email without specifying it as primary email in SuccessFactors -> Email Information Portlet.


Is this a standard system behavior as I am unable to see any business rule associated with this portlet due to which it is exhibiting this behavior.
