Regarding the free URL for Video Source; I am not able to perform this new feature.

1. Created text box in bookpage in Producer

2. Inserted text 'Click here'

3. Selected 'here' and then selected via + 'Insert Video'

4. inserted URL

5. Result: the text 'here' disappeared, when opening the 'insert video' again the insertek link disappeared as well

Can someone advise what I did wrong?

Response of SAP ticket:

the "Insert Video File URL" requires a file including file extension like .mp4. Please add the complete URL with extension, than it should work. Meaning that the file should end with .mp4 AND enduser should have access to the URL of the server.

I've tested it and it WORKS 🙂

Hi Maggy and Dirk,

Do you have the Master Authors role? I saw a comment yesterday on another post that these links will only work in the Manager Web Editor if you have the Standard Authors role. Something to do with it being treated as active content when the links are added from Producer. Outside that, raise a ticket using the Component ID KM-SEN-PRO and hopefully there will be an answer to the issue.

Are you using the 'embeddable' link? i.e. https://www.youtube.com/embed/t-H5uvOXF2o instead of just https://youtu.be/t-H5uvOXF2o ?

Hey Dirk,

I am using the direct link (because for the embed link we need to select the button Embed no?). And adding the embed link into the field 'Video file URL' isn't working neither....

Hi Maggie,

If you want to embed the video into your Book Page, use the Insert Video option. If you want to link from a piece of text, e.g. 'here', to a video object, use the Insert Link option.

Hello Shane, I've used both but neither is working... frustrating.

I've copied a URL link from you tube and pasted it into the field 'Insert video URL'. But for a reason the URL is not saved in the text box.
