SEN. Adding new content to SEN Companion (desktop)

Hi, could you please explain me, from the end user point of view.

For example

  1. I'm an end user. Desktop assistant has been started and opened now on my PC
  2. An Author decided to add a new context help object.
  3. Author did it, regenerated desktop assistant. Saved and published it to the manager.

The question is:

Should end user restart desktop assistant  in order to see a new content?

I was sure that new content would be available without the restarting DA.

But I tried several times and it becomes available only after restarting DA.

No, the user shouldn't restart the SAP Companion for Desktop (Desktop Assistant) as it checks for updated content periodically. This is defined in the SAP Companion Playback Settings in Producer

If you don't mind 2 more questions. I can't get what key attribute "responsible" for the system language in SAP GUI. <PageKey> <MSAA/> <SAP> <PageAtt type="programm" value="ZFI_CUR_REPORT" langdep="0"/> <PageAtt type="text" value="wnd[0]" langdep="0"/> <PageAtt type="title" value="Отчет - просмотр курсов валют" langdep="1"/> <PageAtt type="transaction" value="ZFI_CUR_REPORT" langdep="0"/> <PageAtt type="type" value="GuiMainWindow" langdep="0"/> </SAP> </PageKey>. Here is example from my context help

The page key "title". In your example, the DA will compare "Отчет - просмотр курсов валют" with the user's screen title. If they match - then the context help will be displayed.

Hi, Anton, it's me again. As language attribute. I have 3 object with same page key - simulation and 2 context help. If I change language simulation works well, but context helps are not visible in DA. I replaced title with the regular expression. <PageKey> <MSAA/> <SAP> <PageAtt type="programm" value="ZFI_CUR_REPORT" langdep="0"/> <PageAtt type="text" value="wnd[0]" langdep="0"/> <PageAtt type="title" value="RegExp(/.*/)" original="Отчет - просмотр курсов валют" langdep="1"/> <PageAtt type="transaction" value="ZFI_CUR_REPORT" langdep="0"/> <PageAtt type="type" value="GuiMainWindow" langdep="0"/> </SAP> </PageKey>

I love how SAP lets you specify the time interval to the nearest millionth of a minute. German precision at its finest!

@DirkManuel, probably when your Deutsche Bahn train always runs out of schedule, you'll use any chance the life gives you to create something super punctual 🙂
