Hi,
Our client wants to view a specific standard simulation in the extended workarea. When he tries to search in the manager using search terms, it's not appearing in the search results. (The workarea is very large. So, it is very hard for us to get a specific simulation).I tried creating a filter but no luck. Can you please help me in this? Also, my client wants to know if there is any way to get an excel file which should contain all standard simulation with links (Like we do it in producer Tools -> Workarea Structure -> Export Structure). I can't bring all standard simulations in producer because it is in huge number.
Thanks

Searching in Producer is much faster / more effective, but it will only search content that is currently being synchronized (it may miss things in Unsorted or things you have deleted locally (you have the white cloud icon). What attribute are you searching on? UID is the most effective for a unique match, but is not visible by default. In theory you can use Select Search Attributes and select it, but i find it more effective to (temporarily) add UID as a listed attribute (View > Workarea Details > Show UID).
For the export, try filtering first (maybe on type?). Failing that, you may need to export in chunks and then combine in Excel.

Thanks for the response Dirk. But our client is not convenient in using producer so he relies on manager for searching a specific generic SEN content. When I create a filter in manager, I enter search term in Field Search. But the search results are empty. And our generic SEN content is present in Unsorted folder. Is this the issue?
Hi, Mani. The Search and Filter will also include whatever is in Unsorted so if you have all the standard content in there then yes, it could take a while. (The same thing is true in Producer.) But if you want to search for generic content that is the best way to do it. You might find it (slightly) faster to search in the Connected Workarea (that contains only the generic content) and not in the Extended Workarea, but the bottom line is you are searching through gigabytes of data.
You could maybe ask SAP to add Language as a filter option so that you're not searching through every language every time...
