Script Error: Related to Enable Now script

JonSchneider

Two Enable Now users have received errors as shown in the snip below. The script error appears to be connected to a wpb_cloud script. The error elements show:

  • Error: Unable to get property 'getAttribute' of undefined or null reference
  • URL: User C drive at App/Data/Local/Temp/wpb_cloud/10.4.4.1544/script/dabubble.js

It has been experienced under the following circumstances:

  • Enable Now Desktop Assistant is active with three features available (Search, Request Content, Show Content)
  • Users are operating on an internal corporate network or virtual private network
  • Browser is Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer
  • Equipment are Dell Latitude or GETAC tablet
  • User actions that trigger the script area include: CTRL+keystroke (e.g., CTRL+F to find a word) or Outlook email (e.g., reply, reply all, typing)

Selecting 'No' does not stop the script from running and errors continue to be thrown.

Any ideas or ways to troubleshoot this?

Hi Bill,

as far as I know, this was resolved for Jon by following Shanes instructions. If this doesn't help you, please open an incident.

Take care,

Kristina

Hi Jon,

My guess is that you have keystrokes defined against your Desktop Assistant application that are calling DA functions when you don't really want to do that. You can see what keystrokes are defined for DA by selecting Tools > Settings > Desktop Assistant: Playback Settings > Desktop Assistant > Function Keys. I would consider removing these values if they are causing issues with other applications. To do this, you will need to take editing control of the corresponding Resources and the remove the keystroke values. Save the changes, synchronise them back to Manager and Publish the new version of the Resources.

Hope this helps.

Regards
Shane

Thank you, Shane, for reviewing our situation and offering an idea. I see that all the function keys are set to their defaults. Since we aren't educating anyone on use of function keys at this time, I'll give your suggestion a try and circle back early next week with an update. Jon
