SAP Enable Now keyboard behaviour

Hello,

In the previous versions of SAP Enable Now Instant Producer and Producer, when the user starts a recording and writes a text (for example MM01) in a field, system were recording/capturing the whole text as a single text and slide. Today when i tried the same scenario with the 2111 version (maybe it was changed in another previous version), system captures each letter as a seperate action and slide.

When did this behaviour changed and is there a setting for changing it back? Because since it captures every keyboard stroke as a new action and slide, this increases the slide number and user needs to merge them afterwards.

Can someone help me please?

Hi mertturfanda,

I saw this issue happening when users were not paying attention to the warning(s) Producer was showing when they were to start the recording. To fix it, make sure that the Windows desktop scaling is 100%, browser scaling is also 100%, SAP GUI Scritping is activated on the server side.

When you choose the SAP GUI window for the recording, there mustn't be any warnings shown below the Choose Profile drop-down list.

Hi Anton,

I always pay attention to warnings like you said or the sap scripting settings. But even i saw the desktop scaling warning, i never thought that capturing each letter as an action or a slide can be related to scaling so i didn't change it. 🙂 (also when i used like this in previous versions, i don't remember having this issue. Maybe the new versions are more sensitive)

Now when i set it to %100 again (it was %125) the issue resolved but now the system doesn't capture the any part of the text. I thought that the new SAP GUI 7.70 can be a cause for it, but as i see in your screenshot you are using the 7.70 version also. So maybe it can be related to profile selection, i will try other options.

Thank you.

Hello Team, the same happen to me unintended.

Could you please let me know what setting controls if a keystroke is recorded or if the "whole" input field value is recorded.

Thank you

Hi Kemal,

Outside the great advice offered by Anton and Dirk, I've seen one other issue cause this problem. When recording a Simulation in Producer, please be sure to click in each field to be completed, especially when you transition to a new screen. You need to do this even if the cursor is already in the field. Please then wait for the Recording Toolbar to be green before you start typing.

Regards
Shane

Hi Shane,

Your tip is valuable, because sometimes the users don't click the field since the cursor is there. Or they switch the fields with TAB key. But like you said, i also think that the best way is to click in each field while recording. Thank you.

It didn't change. It is down to the recording profile being used, and/or whether scripting is enabled in the application. Sometimes it takes a bit of trial-and-error to figure out the correct profile to use for a given application, but the scripting should be easy to check.
