SAP Enable Now Companion announcement combined with a conditions

Hello team members,

I am struggeling with the below:

Objective:

Create awareness for new release updates by using SAP Companion for S4 On Prem with announcements combined with conditions when end users is working into a specific tab see picture 2023-11-16-16-49-33.png

Situation:

- SAP Companion isn’t opening automatically when end users are opening SAP S4.

- So when end users

• Starts S4
• Clicks on the question mark
• Clicks on the tab for which the announcement should appear

Result: announcement doesn’t appear

• Starts S4
• Clicks on the tab for which the announcement should appear
• Clicks on the question mark

Result: announcement appear

Question:

What needs to be setup in order to create ALWAYS a trigger for the appearance of the announcement?

In the Fiori launchpad update the following parameter:

readCatalogue=true

You probably have it set up currently as false.

Here is the explanation from the SAP Companion Integration Guide:

Prevent content request on startup - Avoids requesting content on SAP Companion startup. The server request is sent when the Help button is selected.

Note: SAP Companion does not check for content and the Help button is always shown. Without the parameter, the Help button is only shown if content is available

Hey Robert, the parameters is the one we use and still it is not working. We will launch a ticket as we think the cause is related to 'refresh' issues....

Hi Maggie,

How have you created the announcement? It is a link Tile that you are auto starting? Have you added content to the What's New tab for the corresponding tab.

The easiest way to auto start an announcement every time a user opens a specific screen is to create a Link tile for that screen that links to the information that you want to share, i.e. typically a book page. When setting up your Link tile, please ensure that you turn on the Announcement settings.
