SAP Companion Standard Content

When it comes to SAP Companion, I understand that not all content scenarios are supported for all applications. I can find this information by navigating to the following site. When I navigate to this site, I can find a table available for each application (a sample screenshot attached for Ariba application). This table with various columns describes the level of SAP Companion integration with each SAP application. I have a question with regard to the following two columns, as I want to understand the difference between the two columns.

  • Simulations – The given definition of this column is "If this column contains a tick, standard SAP Enable Now Simulations are available for the corresponding application, and can be viewed via the Access Learning link."
  • Guided Tours – The given definition of this column is "If this column contains a tick, standard SAP Companion Guided Tours are available for the corresponding application."

I am clear about the first column Simulations, as it indicates that guided simulations are available for the application.

My question is for the Guided Tours column. If this columns has a tick, does it mean the following? Please confirm.

  • Readymade In-App Guided Tours are already available for the application for various End User transactions.
  • These readymade Guided Tours can be configured to appear as content overlay on the live system.
  • These readymade Guided Tours can also be modified before making them appear as content overlay on the live system.

In answer to your questions:

  • Readymade In-App Guided Tours are already available for the application for various End User transactions.
Yes, that's what it is suggesting. However, I'd add the caveat that this only indicates there is at least one Guided Tour - I would not expect GTs to be available for every app/tile or business task
  • These readymade Guided Tours can be configured to appear as content overlay on the live system.
They will appear as content overlay - as long as SAP Companion is set up (and there is a column in that table to say whether it is active by default or not). They do not need "to be configured" per se.
  • These readymade Guided Tours can also be modified before making them appear as content overlay on the live system.
Only if the table indicates that extensibility is possible.
