SAP Companion Help appears on the Fiori App Home screen, but not on the related Fiori screen

Using SAP Companion, we are authoring In-App Help (Guided Tours) content for SAP Fiori apps. In case of some Fiori apps, we see the In-App Help icon on the Fiori App Home page/screen, but when we navigate to the related Fiori screens, the In-App Help icon does not appear.

For example, below is the homepage of the My Change Requests Fiori app screen. On this screen, I can see the In-App Help icon, and I added a Guided Tour as “Test A”.

Now, on the My Change Requests Fiori app, when I open a particular change request, the related Fiori screen appears as shown below. However, on this screen, the In-App Help icon is not there.

My question – Any reason why in some cases, the In-App Help icon/panel appears on the Fiori app home screen, but not on the related Fiori screens?

That second screen looks like MDG. This is a problem I have seen as well, and don't have a solution. Basically MDG is a separate system, but can be 'embedded' in the S/4 system. Unfortunately some features of it (but not all...) launch in a separate browser window, and SAP Companion (running on S/4) does not reach the actual MDG system. You could try opening a ticket with SAP to see if there is some way to get the newly-opened window to include the standard header - but it may have a separate Product name - and certainly a separate app ID, so you may not be able to run a single Guided Tour across the S/4 and MDG steps.

Hi Angad,

Is the second screen really Fiori or another technology like GUI for HTML or Web Dynpro?  If it is Fiori, modify the URL of the application by adding help-editor=true following the ? in the existing URL.  It should look something like:

This should force SAP Companion to be displayed.  If it doesn't, please confirm that it really is a Fiori app and if it is, raise a ticket using to Component ID KM-SEN-CMP to get someone to check the issue.
