Hello Experts,
Our client wants to modify the route map of our job requisition. The logic is, there will be approvers on the requisitions and those approvers will be determine based on the career band from the position.
For example, I will create a job requisition from Position org chart (Account Manager position). The career band for this position is Individual contributor -- those approvers while requisition upon creation will be determined or appear in the requisition route map based on the career band (people under Individual Contributor). It is like approvers will be based on the Career Band.
I am having a hard time how to initiate it. Can anyone enlighten me on this? Is this possible? I am not sure how or where to start, I feel route map is not as flexible as Employee Central wherein I can choose group of people based on career band and add them in the Route Map template of our requisition to meet the requirement. Hope anyone can give me some advice.
Thank you.
Regards,
Rochelle

Hi spchel
I ever had a similar business requirement but finally found that it is mere impossible.
Fistly, the route map for job req doesn't support multiple users in one step (like dynamic group in EC).
Secondly, the user in a route map step is not dynamic, it could not be dicided who should be to approval based on the specific condition.
However, you could choose to use a workaround even if I don't think it is effective. It will utilize the initial rule or onsave role.
Firstly, you should create an operator field for the contributor and the operator is the step owner in the route map. Secondly, you use the initial rule in "Manage Recruiting Rule", after job req is created from position, the value of the brand field are pre-populated, then the initial rule could does work based on your condition to populate a specific user into the operator. (Generally, initial rule is triggered after position to job requisition sync role). Or, you could use Onsave rule to populate the operator which is more stable than initial rule.
