HI,
We are looking into the possibility to restructure our Trainer (info center) as the library search function is close to useless. We want it to look alot like the one in SAPs own info center. Can someone please help or point me in the direction of some supporting material. All books and bookpages are displayed in our trainer and it does not look pretty.
Best,
Thomas

You need to set the Hide checkbox for most of your content (Books/Book Pages). Pretty much all of SAP's Info Center is built using Groups with Book Pages as the library Autostart, and those Book Pages provide tiles linking to the actual content objects - so the content objects are never accessed via the Hierarchy, which means you can Hide them.
I think they also replaced the 'Group' icon (the 'folder' image) with a 1x1 pixel 'empty' image (the same color as the background) to effectively suppress the icon in the Outline, and maybe changed the 'expand/collapse' icon too, but you'd have to ask them.

Hello Thomas,
please be aware that any images you post here are public. Here are some suggestions for your use case:
![]()
Check the setting for showing the tree in Playback Settings > Library > Visual Properties > Show Tree.
You can use the URL add on &lib_tree=0 or &lib_tree=1 to have the tree open or closed by default.
Navigating is always an issue, but I would suggest thinking about your use case and the information that a learner would typically search for. Look at the structure through their eyes - do they search via process or role or application or module? You can build several libraries in one, each using references but offering different ways to search for content.
Maybe look into the Desktop Assistant for providing contextualized help - that takes care of the searching issue.
I hope that you can use some of those tips and tricks, but we do recommend consulting services to help with the structuring of your workarea.
Take care,
Kristina

Sorry. I have been on paternity leave and just got back to work. Both solutions were great! Thank you Dirk and Kristina.

Thank you dirkmanuel2. Is it also possible to show the tree structure and searh bar when opening the trainer? Ours is hidden to the far left when opening the trainer.
We would also like to optimize our search results if possible any suggestions on how it is easier for learners to use the tree structure? Naming, tags etc.
Thanks

(Sorry, just saw this.)
Go into your Playback settings (via Adaptable Resources, or menu option Tools > Settings) and navigate to Playback Settings > library > Visual Properties. Check the Show Tree setting - it sounds like it is deselected in your case. The Search bar is at the top of this, so will also be displayed.
For 'optimizing the search results' - are you cloud or on prem? If on prem, look into setting up some predefined filters. If on cloud, that feature doesn't work yet, but you can define keywords for the users to search on.
The Tree structure is hierarchical - use whatever organization makes sense to your users. I've seen some clients use an organization/role-based structure, some use a process-oriented structure, and some use a structure that mimics the SAP ECC 6.0 Menu tree. Whicheber method you use, it would be wise to describe this on the 'entry screen' (or at least have a link to the explanation).
