The route map for our performance form template has several collaborative steps that mean there are frequently two owners for any given form. When a query is built to establish the data set for performance reporting, the collaborative steps have two rows of data per form. This occurs even when the owner data is not included in the data set. Is there an easy way of removing duplicate records from data sets.

I was experiencing the same issue when trying to create a story report on performance form status but did not know the cause until I read your question stating it was the collaborative step causing the row duplications. I used the count distinct solution on document id described in KBA 3092400 to implement a solution. Note: you need to change the document id from a measure to a dimension in the column options in the query first before creating the aggregation.
