Reflecting custom field value from custom object on 'Job Relationship' Portlet during new hiring

Hello All,

We've recently received a business request to automatically reflect the 'HRBP' custom field value, stored against the custom 'Region' foundation object from the 'Job Information' portlet, onto the 'Job Relationship' portlet during the new employee hire page process.

Configured custom object:

Note: The 'Relationship Type' has multiple values derived from Picklist.

We've attempted to address this requirement through an integration job, but have hit some roadblocks along the way. Could anybody lend their expertise and insight please on whether this requirement is achievable on hiring page through an integration job? If so, any guidance on how to proceed would be immensely helpful.
