RCM sort Picklist on Country

Is there a way to sort picklists in RCM - we would like to have United States and Canada be the first two countries to choose from when candidates apply to a job.

Hi Barbara,

I would suggest not to use the setting that sorts the picklist. Alternatively, sort only those picklists that are necessary manually in the excel before adding them to the picklist file. For those picklist like your country picklist, place United States and Canada on the top of the list and you may want to sort the remaining countries manually using excel feature. You can then add the entire list to the picklist file.

Thanks,

Hi Reena,

Thank you. We have tried the sorting on the picklists manually. I believe we need to make the change in Provisioning to remove the alpha sorting so that our manual sorting will pick up.

I will work with my team to try this.

Hello Barbara, the picklists are sorted alphabetically. This general behavior cannot be changed. The only option to change the order of the values in the picklists, I currently see, would be working with this behavior. You could add special (non printable) characters in front of the values to change the sorting without the applicants noticing. Unfortunately this comes with quite a price. You could no longer jump to an entry in the dropdown field by typing the first letter which could be an issue when most of your applicants are still using desktop computers instead of mobile devices. Also in the later processing of the data e.g. when you export it using ad hoc reportsto work with it in excel or in integrations using the label (onboarding has such option) this could lead to issues. Kind regards, Roman

Hi Roman,

I can see how adding special characters would cause problems in the work stream. I appreciate your help.
