"Cloud" SEN and "On-Premise" SEN - can they co-exist for an author?

This community is active; thanks in advance for your consideration.

The SEN we use productively now is on-premise, but we can see some appeal of the Cloud version of SEN.

Our current plan at least short term is to maintain/keep the productive on-premise but gain some SEN Cloud capability to learn/assess our situation and the Cloud possibility in greater detail.

As we start to plan and think about that more, I want to check...

Is this possible? Will I see issues on Producer/Instant Producer conflicting between on-prem and Cloud? Or perhaps other issues?

If it is possible, have any others done it and have any guidance?

Thanks in advance,

Wallace

I'd tentatively say there should be no conflict. The cloud is (almost 100%) on the cloud - it just uses some .dlls on your PC. Certainly for Manager there will be no conflict as that is 100% browser-based. For Producer/Instant Producer you should be OK as long as you create your Producer content in a place well away from your on-prem Producer. Everything for the cloud is 'installed' under C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\CloudWA so it shouldn't interfere with anything on prem.

Bear in mind there are different license structures for on prem and cloud - so unless you have an agreement with SAP, you'll need to get some new licenses for cloud...
