Query on the concept of front end and back end in erecruiting

Hello experts!

We have SAP HR and SAP EREC in two different boxes( standalone I2b scenario).

Internal/external/recruiter/recruitmentadmin all are going to access erecruiting via portal.

Am I required to do any settings for switches BL2UI and UI2BL. Am also confused what is being called as front end and back end in sap erecruiting.

I have read a lot of blogs however unable to get hold of the concept.

Am sorry for bothering you with too many queries. However would like to have a clarity on the below landscape->

Our SAP EREC and SAP ECC are in the different server but both behind DMZ.

Portal is on a seperate server but behind DMZ again.

1.So the above constellation means that our front end and back end on the same server or seperate?

2.We are also not using any reverse proxy concept ...however is it recommended to be used? or what is the best practice?

Hi Poonam,

1. If you have just one E-Rec server, then you don't have a seperated frontend and backend system.

2. That depends on your security requirements.
