Pushing custom fields in CATS to HR infotype 2010

Hi Experts,

The timesheets including attendances and allowances, in my organisation are coming from an external application to SAP-CATS. I need to display the allowance payments with rate, amount and quantity. The rate for these allowances are not maintained in SAP. So we requested the external application to send both amount and quantity so that we can derive the rate in SAP and display all three information on payslip. But CATS allows to enter either amount or number but not both. I tried with different combinations of CAC2 data entry profile configurations but could not find any configuration which would allow me to enter both amount and quantity for a wagetype in CAT2.

So we are deciding to go for a custom field in CATS where we will save the quantity of a wagetype and later use it to push the data to infotype 2010. Has somebody done anything similar to this? Is there any better or easier way to achieve this? Any pointers are greatly appreciated.
