Hi,

Greetings!!

I would like to learn more about the process followed to convert a contractor to an employee.

Currently in our org we terminate and rehire the profile with the "employee type" as employee and the "Event Reason" as Rehire.

Let us explore more about the process.

Regards

Aswini

Contingent worker to a regular worker(Employee)

  • Contingent Employment must to be terminated
  • Use the Add new employee transaction (Accept match) to change the employment from a contingent worker to a regular worker.

Regular Worker(Employee) to Contingent

  • Regular Employment must be terminated
  • Use the Add contingent worker transaction (Accept match) to change the employment from regular to contingent.

What is the Event Reason used while Rehire?

From an event - This is Hire - as it is always a new employment.

From an event reason perspective- the system is flexible to configure a reason that the is suitable for the customer.

It could be "Hired from Contingent Employment" or "Hired from Contract" etc

Sharath

There is not much to tell to be honest.
Assuming you use the contingent worker functionality, the best scenario is that (after that work order ends) that you rehire. With that you can choose to hire as a new user (which is seldom done, but possible) or you can rehire in such a way that the person-id-external stays the same (connecting the 2 employments) and that the user-id deviates. In some ways this looks a bit like concurrent employment (except that the prior employment is in fact no longer active).
