Permission to edit the Custom Foundation object

Hello There,

Good Day.

We have created a custom object (Project) and the project is assigned to employees in job information. In the project master, we have a field which will hold the information about "project manager" (User filed in object).

Now the requirement is project (custom object) details should be only updated by the Project Manager (who is assigned in Project).

For an example:-

Project 1 - Project Manager is David

Project 2 - Project Manager is Sachin

Now if David want to edit the project details, he should only able to see Project 1 in manage data.

Can anyone suggest if there any way to achieve this.

This doesn't sound possible, because you request permission based on a field in a custom mdf object that determines a group, which cannot be selected in a permission group.
