Periodically auto generation of Report

Hi, I have some questions about the auto generation of reports which could send to user mail ID in SAP. The tcode that I use is : SO23 and SM37, thank you!

１.Output device selection: I see that there are multiple choices to choose from, since its sending to user mail ID, I would like to know what output device does it mean here?

2. Concept of the job review step: once we setup the job name, when will it appear showing the activity is finished?

3. is it possible to have the repost send in excel format type?

What kind of reports are you using, Crystal, WEBI or ????
