Parallel workflow approval in SAP Success Factors

We have a leave request workflow in Success factors once it is processed by HR, then flow should go to three departments in parallel

1. Ticketing department, 2.Visa Department, 3.Payroll Department , all three can process their respective area at the same time, and they are not dependent On each other. They can process the request independently.

So can we send workflow request to three departments in parallel?

Hi

If you can't find the "Approval Type" setting in the workflow editor, try these steps:
1. Select the Approver Step: Make sure you’ve clicked on the specific approver step you want to configure.
2. Check Properties Panel: Look at the right side of the screen for the properties panel. It should display options related to the selected step.
3. Expand Settings: Sometimes options are hidden under expandable sections; look for any arrows or sections that can be expanded.
4. Role-Based Permissions: Ensure you have the necessary permissions to edit approval types. If permissions are limited, you might not see all options.

Thank you for the additional infos. However, I can still not seem to find this setting in my instance. I have all possible admin rights, but there is still no option for approval type or selecting that all steps must be completed for the workflow to be completed. Is it possible that you provide a screenshot of how the workflow configuration page looks for you, so I can maybe use this for opening an incident?

Hi

Step 4: Configure Approval Type to "All"
Select the Approver Step--> In the workflow editor,--> click on the approver step you created for the Ticketing, Visa, and Payroll departments.
Access Step Properties-->On the right side, you should see properties or settings for the selected step.
Set Approval Type--> Look for a dropdown or checkbox labeled "Approval Type" or similar. Here, you should find options such as "Any," "All," or "First Response."
Choose "All": Select "All" to ensure that all departments need to approve the request simultaneously.
Save Changes: After setting the approval type, make sure to save your changes.

In SAP SuccessFactors, the concept of a "Parallel" step is implemented differently than in SAP ECC. Instead of a dedicated parallel step, you can achieve parallel processing by configuring multiple action items within the workflow designer.

how to set it up:
Step Description
1 Open the workflow editor in the Admin Center of SuccessFactors.
2 Create a new workflow for the leave request process after HR approval.
3 Add approver steps for Ticketing, Visa, and Payroll departments.
4 Set the approval type to "All" for each step for simultaneous processing.
5 Configure appropriate notifications for each department.

Hi, thanks for the description. A screenshot of step 4 would also be very helpful for me, as I cannot find the setting for approval type. Kind regards, Anne

Yes, you can configure a parallel workflow in SuccessFactors for your leave request process. After HR processes the request, set up a workflow step that routes the request simultaneously to the Ticketing, Visa, and Payroll departments. Each department will have its own task, allowing them to process the request independently. This can be done using the "Parallel" step in the workflow designer, ensuring all departments receive the request at the same time. Make sure to define the appropriate notifications and follow-up actions for each department.

Please let me know where can I finds Parallel step in SAP SuccessFactors. I know there is a parallel step in SAP ECC Version using SWDD but in SAP SF I cannot find that.
