Hi Gurus
We are currently on SAP HR 6.04 and with a stand-alone EREC system also 6.04.
We are planning on adding EHPs.
However, we have changed tons of the translations in OTR (Online Text Repository), since the translations delivered by SAP for the candidate web pages are not good.
My concern is that upgrading might overwrite all the changes we have made.
Does anyone have experience with this?
Kind regards
Aage Kold Jensen

Hi Aage,
We did have an issue with the OTR being wiped out when we implemented EHP5. According to SAP they have fixed it so that this would not happen again. We had to manually recreate all the entries and transport them to production.

Richard

Hi Richard
Thank you for your reply.
When you say that SAP has fixed it are you then refering to Note 1690510 - OTR: Customer-specific texts deleted during upgrade?
We have done 2 things to OTR:
1. Change many standard translations in packages PAOC_RCF_UI and PAOC_RCF_UI_SELF_SERVICES.
2. Created a Z-package.
Kind regards
Aage
Hi Aage,
I opened my OSS message and I did not find reference to OSS note 1690510. This is because we already did our manual workaround before they got back to us. The description and timing of the note appears to coincide with us reporting the problem (November 2011).
Good luck with your upgrade.

Richard
What if we used a custom context (BAdI BTFR_CONTEXT). Then we wouldn't have to worry about texts getting wiped, right?

A bit late. But you should indeed use custom context. eg DA for danish translations. When upgrading you will afterwards have to refresh the OTR buffer reading your customer contexts again. Saving the contexts in a zpackage should ensure that no overwrite will happen when upgrading. I wont guarantee anything, but logically it should work this way right?
