I couldn't find any hits on pretest and posttest to answer my question.
Does anybody have an LMS published Storyline 360 file with a pretest that if passed, gives a completion by pass credit, but if not passed, presents the user with the training content and posttest? We have implemented this numerous times and use separate scenes for the assessments so that we can get accurate QLD for us to know whether the incorrect choices were made during pretest or posttest. However, periodically, when testing our courses that contain pretests, we can exit the course after answering only one question and receive a pass/credit from SuccessFactors without completing the pretest. The LMS tracking publishing settings in articulate have a pre-check and a final assessment it can track on, as well as any "complete course" triggers. We use the pre-check and final assessment results for tracking. this phenomena doesn't occur to everyone, and a handful out of thousands. However, it happens frequently to testers that are trying intentionally to break it. I proposed last year (after reading eheroes opinion) to do a pretest in LMS assessment and have that configured as a substitute for the content with a posttest. Managers decided it would confuse our learners so we incorporated both pretest and postest in the same storyline file instead. but it has it's own issues.
Hello cpowers, I hope you`re doing well
I`m not have any archive in this format, and I`m afraid that I can`t help you in your entire question, but:
So, conceptually an item with pre and post test belong a strict propose that is to capture how much was the training effective in terms of knowledge acquired. In other words, if the student was able to learning it.
When this propose is understood, the Learning Administrators can realize a lot of analysis in the results to adapt or change some concepts in the learning content developed and the strategies applied.
If you`re trying to reach this, can I suggest to check my Blog? >> https://blogs.sap.com/2022/11/21/pre-and-post-test-into-sap-successfactors-lms/ Where I guide in how to build pre and post test in the SAP SuccessFactors Learning.
Said that, I can see that you`re using the pre test to check the knowledge and based on the results, determine the behavior. For me is more decision tree logic then the concept presented above.
My Suggestion is: Why not use an Assignment Profile to check who has failed and assign an Item? Ok, in terms of failure, the feedback message could be something like: "...Unfortunately you didn`t pass in this Pre Test, so wait the automatically assignment of the Course (...........) in next few hours..." In this way the LMS could be deliver the complete course with a exam at final.
I hope this helps
