Onboarding 1.0 DHS Ends Form I-9 Requirement Flexibility Announcement - I-9 Physical Inspection

Hello Team,

DHS has announced that the COVID-19 temporary flexibilities for Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, will end on July 31, 2023. Therefore, as a client we will not be able to use anymore the panels that related to the flexibilities for Form I-9. And we would like to request that removing the I-9 Physical Inspection panels from our main processes.

However, we would like to understand what is the plan from SAP side about this updates and if we need to work with our Implementation Partners to change any configurations.

We would appreciate if anyone has any information about this announcement and how it would effect the system configurations or the current processes.

The plan is for SAP to patch the change to disable the additional COVID panels so that the additional Physical Verification process would not trigger after the designated end date. If there are activities still in the queue with the Physical Verification process in place, those will need to be completed as is, per the guidelines.

It is planned to be patched in accordance with the government timeline. Patches can be monitored via this blog. SAP SuccessFactors - Patches

Hello,

I have another question related to this topic. We tried to step thru this new feature in our test instance and noticed the new I9 document Digital signature was replaced with the Physical Inspection date signature. I do not think this is correct. According to DHS the only thing that should be updated is the Additional Information area box in I9.

Is anyone else encountering this issue? We are also running this past our legal team. But any feedback/guidance that the product team can provide will be helpful.
