Not getting Notification Emails from Enable Now

Hello,

I added comments in producer and manager to courses and haven't gotten an email as I am a watcher. It worked last week in Manager but I don't see it working now. I made the following settings changes:

Notify at Comment - Always

Finish of editing - Always

I want it to email a watcher once someone makes changes and finish editing and put a note in the comment.

Is there somewhere else I should be looking for changes? Also, would these changes go into Producer? I followed note 2824192 - No notification email sent although "Notify Watchers" is selected when finishing editing -...

Hi Lauren,

I added a Comment to a content object in Manager and got the notification, when using the same settings you show in the images above. In Producer, I assume that you either used Save to Server or Finish Editing functions to add the comment. If you use the Save to Server function to add the comment, you might want to consider setting the Notifications on the Commit events to Always as well because that may be causing the issue.

Unfortunately, the documentation is no use when it comes to understanding the difference between all these options but I assume that they relate to the Save to Server function.

The wiki is slightly more helpful:

  • Notification at commit: ...when the object is saved to the server.
  • Notification at commit with new version: ...when the object is saved to the server and this would not normally result in a new object version being created (automatically), but the user has selected the Force new version option.
  • Notification at commit as new version: ...when the the object is saved to the server resulting in a new version being created (automatically).

Thanks Dirk, this is indeed far more useful than the standard documentation on these Notification settings.

It should work fine, provided the recipient has a valid e-mail address in the SAP Enable Now account.

Try sending a message manually using the Administration -> Messages feature in Manager.

Emails sent by the SAP Enable Now cloud might be blocked by the company's security system. i.e.in my case notifications sent from SAP Enable Now to my SAP mailbox landed there in almost 2 hrs , but my personal e-mail address received them almost immediately.
